MEDICAL ILLUSTRATION

I have always been interested in Anatomy. I love finding out how the body works and i'm fascinated with organs. I think it's wonderful how these illustrations show the intricate detail of what our body goes through and how these illustrations manage to represent a process we cannot see for ourselves. I think medical illustration is fantastic. It's creative. It's something as an artist you have to do justice, you're visualising a process after all.

For about a year i have followed http://streetanatomy.com/ a website founded by Vanessa Ruiz, a former medical illustration student. Herself and fellow contributors post all kinds of anatomy related things. From beautiful illustrations of the brain, to a plastic jelly mould of a heart (anatomical of course.) that you can buy.
It's a massive help for me when i'm struggling for inspiration. I've found many graphic designers and jewellery makers through this website.

I also came across Teagan White through streetanatomoy. She's a freelance university student from Chicago. Teagan specialises in Illustration and Design. Her work is what i would love to be able to design. She has this beautiful delicate theme all throughout her work, which is obviously great if you're doing line drawings of organs

This is the cover of  her book Soils
(Quote from the Alan Fletcher 'The Art of Looking Side ways' -Amazing book)
It's so perfect it makes me want to cry, She's amazing.
You can buy this print through the streetanatomy site.

BUYING IT.
