NICE MELODY

In the last two weeks we have been doing small workshops in class, mostly to try new things and have a break from working primarily on assignments. It's been nice to sort of have a breather from focusing on getting work done and just enjoy a bit of time trying something new.
Recently we did workshop on Sound and how you could visualise sound and movement. It was interesting as music and art go hand in hand, but illustrating a sense was a lot more harder than i had anticipated. We spent most of the afternoon drawing to classical music, it was really relaxing for me as i felt in some ways that i wasn't actually in control of anything! My hand was just sort of moving around the page and moving faster, or swirling around when there was a sudden change in the tone.

I worked on two rough drafts in black pen and pencil and then two larger pieces.

I never realised until somebody made a comment, that this looks like a ballerina doing a pirouet, with her arm reaching out. I drew this in under 20 minutes and for something so rough i really like it.

This kind of looks human aswell, in some sort of hand stand, long arms, aztec way.
