CHARMAINE OLIVIA

Charmaine Olivia is a painter/illustrator from San Francisco.
I came across Olivia's work during a quick browsing sesh, which then turned into hours staring at her beautiful paintings. They're very rich in colour, very vibrant. Her work is charming, seductive and some of it is actually quite humorous (check out her illustrations on her blog.)

Lately she has been experimenting with oil painting on wood. (see below)

Charmaine has said most of her inspiration comes from her dreams:

"A huge source of inspiration are my dreams. I dream every night (which can be tiresome.) I rarely have a shortage of ideas or inspiration, it’s finding the time to create all the images in my head that can be tricky. Unfortunately many of these mental images get lost and buried under new ones."

I find a lot of artists and designers, but

Charmaine was one artist i thought was definitely worth a mention. Largely because she experiments with a lot of mixed media. Oil paint, watercolour, ink, photography and digital media all making an appearance somewhere in her work and the work she produces is never 'perfect' she has her own style and way of creating beautiful pieces.
